Find the sentence you want to hear again without repeatedly searching through a long recording.

ListenSlice transcribes an audio file in the browser and uses the transcript and timestamps to create sentence segments. Each segment becomes a place to replay, read or practise dictation.

This is a listening workspace, not a precision audio editor. Speech recognition and sentence boundaries can be wrong, especially with background noise, overlapping speakers or unclear speech.

How it works

01Choose an audio file

Open the workspace and select a supported file you have permission to use.

02Wait for transcription

Keep the tab open while your browser prepares the transcript and segments.

03Replay and check

Select a sentence, replay it and check the words against the original recording.

Timestamps are a starting point

Replay the neighbouring segment or the full recording if a sentence sounds incomplete. Check names, numbers and unusual vocabulary against the recording before relying on the transcript.

Prepared material skips transcription

Library items with prepared segments load those segments instead of transcribing your file. Your own recordings need processing first; the time depends on your device, recording length and model download.

Frequently asked questions

Does my audio leave my device?

The practice workspace transcribes your own audio in your browser. Account sync can send transcripts, progress and notebook data to the server. Optional Pro audio backup uploads audio when enabled. Asking the AI tutor sends the selected sentence and conversation to the explanation service. See our privacy policy for details.

Are the boundaries always exact?

No. Automatic alignment can split or merge speech incorrectly. Use the full-audio player to check surrounding context.

What can I try for free?

Start with the library or the on-page demo. The Free plan includes 3 own audio files per month, up to 15 minutes each, and 3 AI tutor questions per day. Some features require an account. See Pricing for current paid plans and allowances.
