Who is it for?

English learners who want to work closely with a recording: replay a phrase, type what they hear, check a transcript, or repeat a sentence aloud. It can supplement exam preparation, but is not an official IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo English Test product.

How does practice work?

  1. Choose library material or prepare your own permitted audio file.
  2. Select a sentence, play it and type what you hear if you want to practise dictation.
  3. Compare your answer with the transcript. Reveal the text, replay a phrase or ask the AI tutor about its meaning.
  4. Continue to another sentence or return to saved progress later. Free Practice allows self-directed navigation; Guided Lesson provides a sequence of activities.

What does the score mean?

The dictation score compares a typed answer with a reference transcript. It is not an IELTS band, CEFR assessment, pronunciation score or proof of general comprehension. It cannot determine why an answer differs. Automatically generated transcripts and AI explanations can contain errors.

What is free, and what is paid?

The Free plan includes library practice, sentence playback, dictation comparison, 3 own audio files per month up to 15 minutes each, and 3 AI tutor questions per day. Some features require sign-in.

The current 8-week commitment is $99 minimum, one-time for 8 weeks. It includes Pro features such as unlimited uploads, playback speed control, exports and 50 AI tutor questions per day. There is no automatic renewal; after eight weeks, access returns to Free unless you purchase again. Existing monthly and lifetime purchases retain their original terms. Check Pricing and the Refund Policy.

Where does the material come from?

The library includes VOA Learning English, LibriVox recordings, NASA podcasts and spoken Wikipedia articles. Episode pages identify the source or programme. These are general listening materials, not an official exam question bank. Difficulty labels help with browsing and are not calibrated test scores.

Where is my audio and practice data processed?

The workspace transcribes your audio in the browser. Prepared library segments load over the network. Signed-in account sync can send transcripts, scores and notebook data to the server; optional Pro audio backup uploads audio when enabled. AI tutor requests send the selected sentence and conversation to the explanation service. See the Privacy Policy.
